High toned aromatics include black currant, cedar, and ripe berry pie. The palate is approachable for a Cabernet in its youth. The wine is balanced and fruit forward – true to a Paso Robles and Templeton Gap AVA, but restrained in its ripeness and alcohol
Adrienne and Chris Ferrara bought 30 acres of land in Templeton, CA after living in San Luis Obispo for a decade. Chris has Sicilian-American roots and wanted to bring that way of life to California. Thier family and dog friendly winery in the rolling hills of the Templeton Gap AVA is complete with chickens, sheep, and a vegetable garden. Here you can sit at a long ancient slab redwood table, enjoying wines with Chris and other friends. The concept is to embrace the Itailan inspired idea of convivo or "shared life."
The Sicilian trinacria found on the label is to represent a symbolic trifecta of legacy, curiosity, and culture.
Chris Ferrara and Adrienne Lindsay first met working harvest in 2002, and where Chris first fully realized his passion for exotic varietals while working under legendary winemaker Ken Volk. Today Clesi produces rare heirloom varieties like: Malvasia Bianca, Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Negro Amaro, Aglianico, Montepulciano and more. The estate ranch in Templeton has six acres of vines planted to Dolcetto, Sagrantino, Sangiovese, and Montepulciano.
Clesi wines are elegant, food-focused and meant to be shared amongst family and friends.
