La Encantada Vineyard, located just seven miles from the Pacific in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, was founded by Richard Sanford, a pioneer of the region. Planted in 2000 on 100 of its 250 acres, the vineyard benefits from cool maritime fog, dramatic diurnal shifts, diatomaceous soils, and organic farming practices. These conditions make it one of the most distinct and celebrated sources of Pinot Noir in the Sta. Rita Hills.
