In 2018, enologists Riccardo Alves and Frederico Machado launched a bold project in Portugal’s high-altitude Trás-os-Montes. Working organically with ancient vines and over 50 native varieties, they craft elegant, low-alcohol wines that reflect the rugged, granitic terroir. Spontaneously fermented and unfined/unfiltered, the wines are aged in old oak, concrete, and steel, showcasing purity and place.
